What is your role?
I’ve had many roles. I was just a teacher and then I
was science teacher and then I was deputy princi-
pal and then I was principal, now I’m back to being
a teacher again. I have a role of doing the work
experience and the photography for the school so I
enjoy all of that. I enjoy the whole atmosphere. In
a way, I’m a bit of an anomaly in the world today
because I’ve been in the same place, but it keeps
changing. Girls today are different from girls yes-
terday but I think they all have that determination
to keep going, succeed to get somewhere.
Why is your Catholic faith important to
you?
I think life without it would be very empty. It
would not have the meaning. I think this gives
it meaning, this gives it focus. Life without the
Catholic faith would be meaningless. The Catholic
faith, our whole tradition that goes for thousands
of years, gives life focus, gives life meaning. I think
that’s very important to live to spread the Word. To
spread the Word of God, is all very important.
What was your reaction when you
heard you were a finalist in The
Leaders?
Completely undeserved. There are many people
even in this one locality who do the same as I do.
Teach. They have many roles. I have been singled
out and I’m humbled by it, but there are many
others who are just as deserving, if not more so.
