Keeping Faith with you
THE 2017 Community Leader
Awards have again shared to the
wider Catholic community the im-
pressive works of many dedicated
people from across the country.
Their dedication to quietly and
diligently build God’s Kingdom, in
their own humble manner, needs to
be applauded.
I congratulate all the nominees and
thank them for their dedication and
good works.
Reading through the nominations
it was clear to see the humble ser-
vice on show by the generous volun-
teers, teachers, youth workers, parish
workers, professionals and many
others across Brisbane archdiocese,
Queensland and the rest of Australia.
It was our privilege to share some
of the work of unsung heroes in our
Catholic community.
They must be thanked for their
efforts and service.
Community Leader of the Year
Annette Baker epitomises offering
humble service to those in need.
Mrs Baker’s volunteer work for
many years across the Sunshine
Coast providing shelter for the
homeless and aid for people with
mental illnesses has been outstand-
ing.
She is a true community leader and
someone deserving of recognition.
The person who nominated her
said she was “an inspirational leader
who inspires you to do more.” What
more could you ask for in a leader?
We look forward to sharing more
of these stories and continuing The
Community Leader Awards in 2019.
